There are a number of reasons depending on the nature of the file & the
features used, but the most likely in this case is the images. The PC file
actually stores both the Mac image format (which the PC can't use) and a PC
translation of each one (which it can use).
To minimize the problem, try to use image formats which are more universally
cross-platfrom, such as GIF, PNG & JPEG.
