Why am I no longer able to Customise Outlook Today, even after re.

Since my PC was recently rebuilt after a hard disk error, I cannot "Customise
Outlook Today". I am using XP Home and Office 2000. I have reinstalled
Office, even renaming my PST file to force a clean virgin file, but when I
select the option, nothing happens. All other customisation options work OK.
I want my Task list on the Outlook Today screen to show in ascending date
order, but they show in descending order. I get around this by looking at my
Tasks, but being unable to Customise Outlook Today to alter stuff is
frustrating. Any ideas?

Sorry Nigel, but I do not have a solution for you; just the opposite, as I
also have the same customisation problem and have been checking to see if you
received any replies which might help me.
My problem followed a hard disk reformat, followed by installation of
Windows 98 and upgrade to Windows Me. I then installed Office 2000 and
everything worked OK. However, I then downloaded and installed all the Me
updates and the customisation problem started.
Office 2000 was uninstalled and reinstalled; problem still exists.
All Office 2000 upgrades were downloaded and installed; problem still exists.

Where do we go from here?

Have you had any clues from other forums or discussion groups?

Good luck

Hi John,

Unfortunately yours is the first response I've had! I've emailed the
problem to a PC magazine which has a "Help Desk" feature, but no answer from
them - yet. If I get one, I'll post a reply back to you.

Good luck,

Nigel

Hello again John,

I just found a response to a similar problem posted on 7/9/2004 (a few below
mine) from Kathie M. Thomas, with replies from Roady [MVP], which involve
editing the Registry. I will try this myself once I've read up the MS stuff
on editing the Registry, and will let you know how it goes.

Thanks Brian. (I found the MS Knowledge base entry for this, which worked too.)

Hi John,

Good news - it worked - checkout MS Knowledge Base Article 820575, but I had
to reboot after step 8 to get it to work.
