Why am I losing pictures in Microsoft Office Word documents?

I copy and paste pictures into a Word document. They disappear and then
sometimes reappear when I do a preview. However, sometimes they do not
reappear or only a part of them appear. This is quite frustrating, and I
cannot find a way to make the pictures stay consistent.

Hi Visiting Angel

Three things to check:

1. Tools > Options > View. Tick "Drawings".

2. Tools > Options > View. Un-tick "Picture placeholders".

3. If the picture is inline, make sure that the style of the paragraph into
which you pasted your picture does *not* have Exact line spacing. To do
this, click in the paragraph near the picture. Format > Paragraph. Set Line
Spacing to "Single".

Hope this helps.

I had a similar issue where if I scroll down and back up the picture
would be gone. If I did a print preview, the picture is really there.
When I type on a page with a missing picture, it would automatically
show back up.

If you are having these symptoms, you need to update your video
drivers. I just upgraded to the latest video drivers on my laptop and
the problem went away.
