why a company would want to upgrade from MS NT to MS Server 2000 with AD

I just want to know what are the features 2000 Server as
compared to Windows NT 4.0.
If anyone can help me sort what are the issues that make
necessary an Upgrade to 2000 Server with Active Directory
when a company is already using NT 4.0

Also, if you can summarize what is are the problems faced
by NT 4.0 and how does Server 2000 help to come across
these problems.

Windows 2000 has no features that would want to make
anyone change from NT at all.

Sorry? The TCP/IP-stack within NT is a terrible pain in the a ..
network.
Administration using Usermanager for NT Domains is an adequate penalty
for someone who has killed father and mother and sold his brothers and
sisters to slavery.
NT domain concept doesn't support a WAN within a single domain (SAM
replication.
When it comes to swapping because of low RAM NT is almost unusable.
2000 does a much better job on this.

Do you have a NT box? Open CMD and run
PING <any host you like> -t
then wait a while and press
F7
Enter
F7
Enter
CTRL-C

Works with user permissions, too!

Security concept with NT? Write permissions to %SystemRoot%, say no
more.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

NT is broke.

Ciao, Walter
