Who is Printing large Print Jobs in W2K Server?

PCSupport

Several times in the past 2 days I have had a user send large print jobs to
our server that kills all of the other print jobs until their print job is
finished as well as bringing the server down to it's knees. How do I tell
who is sending this print job? It is so severe I cannot get into the
Printers folder until it the print job finishes. I would like to see some
sort of Printer History if that is possible.

Anyone have any clues?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hmmm - well, this is low-tech, buti f you open that printers folder on the
server and leave it open, you ought to be able to see who's submitting the
jobs....are there any likely suspects you can narrow it down to?

If 2000 is your print server, you can enable auditing on object access.
Then configure auditing on the printer.

Ah, yes, that's a better idea.
If 2000 is your print server, you can enable auditing on object
access. Then configure auditing on the printer.
