I'm still trying to figure out how you can "defame" a language.

Yeah, I thought of that

But
1. It looks like a standard file that was installed by the system
<html>
<head>
<title id="ridTitle">Blank
</title>
<style>
<!--
body { font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 10pt; color: #000000;
margin-top: 25px; margin-left: 25px; }
P.msoNormal, LI.msoNormal { font-family: Helvetica, "Times New Roman";
font-size: 10pt;
margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 0px; color: "#ffffcc"; }
-->
</style>
</head>
<body id="ridBody" background="Blank Bkgrd.gif">
<p>&nbsp;</p>
</body>
</html>

2. Blank appears to the default

I have tried instead deselecting any file as background and I'll see if that
makes a difference.

What about just editing it and getting rid of the title, CSS and GIF?

Blank.htm is a default IE file that is used when you set IE to not open a site when it is first
launched.

Yep, I am

But I use OE to post to the NG. So I assumed that is what brings up the word
Blank at the start of posts.

I have now removed any stattonery from newsgroup emails - the box is not
ticked.

I hope this will mean no more "Blank" at the start of posts.

D

David Berry

I don't see it.
