White text on a dark background

I have a dark blue background which I want to put white text on. When I go to
type the white text the text box has a white highlight also, therefore making
it impossible to see what I'm typing.
Is there a way to change the highlight colour (or have none) so that I can
see what I'm typing?
I'm using Powerpoint 2000 SR-1

Go to Format/Color Scheme and change your background color to something
contrasting.

Hi - this is actually easy to "fix". On your blue
backround - type your white text as normal - you won't be
able to see it initially as you stated. When you are done
typing a word or two - or the whole thing - Open your
DRAWING toolbar (if not open). Click the text box frame
to highlight, and then on the toolbar - click on the
paintbucket icon (FILL). Select NO FILL from the popup
window - and you are all set! Feel free to e-mail me
with any questions

I'll ditto that, ditto that, ditto that. Steve and Cory, try Echo's method. It
works. <G>
