well. didn't you know office 200X only supports 15 reminders?

LOL!

And here I thought it was the GTG method of organizing I'm using because my
inbox is constantly empty despite getting 300+ emails/day.

I gotta WSOD on my laptop when one of the 512 MB chips came loose :)

Um, don't think that can be blamed on Vista.

You oughtta stop doing the nasty while using your laptop. :p

Well at least now it just freezes the program and not the whole freaking
OS.

Yes, Windows NT 6.0 seems to be a bit better at not crashing than NT 4.0 or
5.x was.

Seeing it is the latest version of the Operating System, thats generally
what happens. (Disregarding Windows ME)

I wonder what has changed in the kernel between 5.x and 6.x. Is there a
changelog somewhere?

I saw it somewhere

just a lot of the following:

long int iCount;
for (i=1, i==0; i++) {
SpinHourGlass();
SpawnDoNothingProcess();
}

Nah, that's the old Microsoft. I actually have access to the Windows source
code. I noticed several changes. These days everything is in the managed
code arena under .net 2.0 assemblies.

Here's how it looks, copied from my source files:

using memoryhandler;
using genuineadvantage;
using propriatery.codecs;
using os2.core.modules;
using vms.core.modules;
using sun.java.core.libraries;
using apple.macintosh.gui;

public class kernel386 {
public static void Main()
{
long int iCount extends infinity;
for (i=1; 1>0; i++)
{
SpinHourGlass();
SpawnDoNothingProcess();
CheckGenuineAdvantage();
LoadMacintoshGUI();
}

}
}

I bow to your geekiness. I'd forgotten completely about the whole Win16
thunking kludge they'd created.

Let's see... how many times did I get this today?

Sigh...

I still use XP. I can't remember the last time I even had a BSoD. Just
need to reboot every few weeks to deal with what appears to be imperfect
garbage collection.

Of course, I also keep the warez to a minimum and use F-Prot instead of
the major name virus programs which are themselves arguably malware. In
fact I just remembered the last time I had a BSoD: I was trying to click
a desktop icon while Norton Internet Security was still in its 10-minute
startup sequence. Apparently wanting to use your computer while NIS is
hijacking it is a punishable offense.

Having a decent amount of physical ram helps too; perhaps Vista really
wants an indecent amount.

I have found XP to be quite acceptable. I run XP on several computers.
The one I am using now, a Sony laptop, will occasionally BSOD with the
flaky usb wireless network card. I can not for the life of me figure out
why it does it only occasionally, but when it happens, it is always at
startup. It's not a serious issue, I usually reboot and it's fine. The
one at work that I have been using for almost 6 years has BSOD'd twice
in that time, both times were after burning a CD and ejecting the disk.
A software update fixed that and it hasn't done so in about 4 years of
continuous use. My other work computer is a bit newer and I have yet to
have a BSOD, but I'm sure it will happen some day. I haven't tried Vista
yet, and probably never will. My work is buying me a shiny new Mac laptop.

I keep getting BSODs on my linux machine, every 20 minutes if I don't touch
it, that is my screensaver.

Is that the one that give random stupid error messages?
