White List based on address book

Bob Chmara

Does anyone know of a spam filter that lets me create a white list
based on the address book (Outlook Express) or Contact List (Outlook)
while permanently deleting any other mail? I wish to use this for my
kids' mail. I currently mailtain an AOL account just becuase the kids
setting lets me maintain a white list for their screennames.

Thanks,
Bob Chmara

This capability is built into Outlook 2002 and later versions. Most if not
all anti-spam programs for Outlook also support it.

There isn't an addin that I'm aware of specifically that works on a whitelist
of addresses but some of the 3rd party antispam addins may offer such features...
Also you are often better using an antispam addin rather than an address
based list, since many viruses and spammers now fake the from address.

Which version of outlook do you use? You may be able to write rules to
filter mail based on entries in the address book...
