Open Windows Explorer or My Computer and click on the Help menu on the toolbar
at the top of the screen.
Select About Windows from the menu that drops down.
You can also go to Start -> Run and enter winver in the Open box. Click OK.

In the display it says Windows XP Media Center, but it only says version 5.1
