Bit of a n00b question which I apologise in advance for!

My system will soon be as follows:

p4 3 Ghz, 1gb ddr400 ram, geforce 6800 GT, 865 chipset board, ata-100 hard
drive.

At the moment I can either also upgrade the board, or the hard drives but
not really both. My question is, what would be the better bet, an 875
chipset mainboard, or SATA hard drive (not in raid configuration).

The system is mainly used for gaming. (farcry, and awaiting half life2,
doom3 etc.)

thanks in advance.

In which case I'd spend the extra on the best monitor you can afford.

I remember benchmarking in Tom's Hardware a while back showing very little
difference between 865 and 875 chipset motherboards, so I wouldn't really
bother getting a new mobo.
