Which machine is serving DHCP?

Hello

We have a [more-or-less] homogenous network of Win2k/XP machines with an NT
4.0 gateway. While DHCP is working, and finding the appropriate domain,
etc. we are having a heck of a time determining which machine is actually
giving out addresses. The gateway and servers have DHCP turned off. What
would be the best way to find a solution to this? Thanks,

At the command prompt type> ipconfig /all

In the result list you will get the IP address of the DHCP server.

If DNS is setup correctly you can then use nslookup to get the computer
name. On the other hand you can do a net view \\dhcpserver ip address and
identify the shares. that may help you chase down the server assuming it's
a NT based server.

You DHCP may be coming from a router or other device.
