Which First on Dell BIOS Flash or XP Upgrade?

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 running ME.
I have a WinXP Home Upgrade and from
the Dell site I downloaded an XP Bios
Flash Upgrade.

If I flash the BIOS to the XP Upgrade will
the computer continue to run under ME until
I do the upgrade to XP Home?

It would seem logical, but Dell may have more specific info.
Before upgrading it might be advisable to run the compatibility checker for
winxp.
Its often advised to do a clean install of an o/s, rather than an upgrade.
Its not necessary to have the original o/s installed to upgrade you just
need original o/s disk.

Do the BIOS flash now - but make absolutely certain that
you are comfortable in doing it, and follow instructions
exactly.
