OK I have two systems at home, 1 of which I am going to upgrade to Vista Home
Premium. I just wanted to get a take on which system would be better to
upgrade, and your thoughts why.
System 1 is an Acer Veriton 6800. Pentium 4 3.0 HT. 2 gigs ram, Sapphire
ATI x1800GTO video card PCIE, Audigy 2 sound card, a 200 gig and 85 gig SATA
drive, Samsung DL DVD-R/W +R/W drive.
The other is a home built system, Asus K8V Deluxe mobo running an original
1st gen AMD Athlon 64 3200+. 1.5 gigs ram, ATI Radeon 9800 pro AGP, a 200
and 300 gig ATA 133 hard drive, ATI TV Wonder PCI, Sony DVD burner.
My dilema is this, the Acer has more memory and SATA hard drive, as well as
a better video card. The ASUS is a 64 bit processor with a decent yet
slightly lesser video card and RAM. Would the 64 bit processor outweigh the
benefits of the Acer ram numbers and faster hard drives?
Any suggetions are appreciated. This is probably a project for next weekend.
Thanks!
