Which client OS to use with Windows 2000 Server?

Tom W.

Our office currently has a Windows 2000 Server. It is
mainly used for a file and print server. We have 8
client machines. Each one runs a different operting
system: NT, 98, XP, Win2000.

We want to keep the Windows 2000 Server, but purchase all
new client PCs. Which operating system would be best for
all of the client machines to be on (current and
compatible)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom W.

It doesn't matter. Get whatever you think will serve the purpose the best.
The Server OS doesn't really have anything to do with it.

I'd go with WinXP Pro for all, presuming the hardware will support it.

Get XP. I would never buy new equipment and load old
operating systems unless it is needed for a specific
reason.

It's sort of hard to buy NT or 98 now and 2000 requires a special order (I
think).... so XP is the best bet. MS licensing isn't my speciality :)
