Where is the System.mdw in Windows XP??

Carie

I was planning on setting up a new mdw for a database that
I'm developing, but I'm not ready to implement it yet.
I'm using Windows XP and Access XP. I was checking to see
how it works and I created my new Workgroup file. But I
don't want it!! ANd I can't find the System.mdw to change
my security back to the default. Does anyone know where
this is???

Thanks so much!
Carie

Hi Carie

The default location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\System

Curious, it's in c:\Program Files\Winnt\System32 on my machine.

Carie, you should be able to find it using Start, Search, Files or Folders.

Hi Joan

I was just going by the SecFAQ "Bible" (the table at the bottom of section
1). Oh, and that is indeed where it is on my computer. I also have one in
%WinSys% but I think that's from the Access 97 installation. It's possible
a clean install of Access 2002 puts it in the personal application data
folder that Lynn mentions.

In actual practice, I don't use any of them. I create my own and put it in
a known location :)

Cheers,
Graham
