Where is the info about last pop3 message downloaded stored?

I am going to install Office 2003 on a new computer. After I set up my POP3
accounts, and copy and reconnect the .pst file from Outlook 2000 on the old
computer, and set the accounts to deliver mail to the reconnected file -

Will I get everything in my server inbox downloaded, or only nessages which
are new since the latest message I had previously downloaded to that .pst
file?

Related to this - where is the info stored about the last downloade messge -
in the .pst, the account, or somewhere else?

Hi Jack,
no you don´t downloaded all messages again, only if you have enabled the
option in your account settings "leave a copy on the server".
These information are not stored somewhere. Outlook ask your Server, if
there any new mails, if there are new mails, outlook downloaded these mails.
Its like a synchronization!

I do leave a copy on the server - and the Outlook on my current machine knows
which is the last one downloaded, and only downloads new msgs since then.
Since I am moving the .pst file to a new machine, I want it to continue doing
this - download only the messages which have arrived since I last downloaded

Hi JAck,
okay,
but ol downloaded all mails only the first time after you have moved your
pst. After this, it will work again.
