WHERE IS THAT FRAGMENTED FILE???

when i run my defrag, i am informed that the defrag was unable to complete
deframentation and that some files remain fragged.
there is never any information in the lower part where these files are
supposed to be located, and in fact, my defrag scan shows that there are only
3 or 4 files that are fragged, with minimal kilobytes of fragmentation.
but i would love to know why my defrag doesnt tell me where they are located
so that i can deal with them.
anyone know why this is? or, how i can locate the fragmented files, and
blow them up! kill them? delete them...whatever?

These files are probably inuse system files. If you "blow them up" you
will also blow up your Windows installation! You can try the free
PageDefrag by Sysinternals, it might be able to defrag these few
remaining files.

there is a report button when the defrag is complete. yoju will need to expand the display line to see the actual location.

most common files that do not defrag are EVENT files and IE cache and history index files.

Don't sweat the small stuff. The presence of 3 or 4 fragmented files
might, in the course of a week, affect the overall performance of your
computer by as much as .00000000000000000001 of a second (cumulative).
