Where do I go for solution for error message from Outlook 2003

After trying to install Access from Office 2000 onto my office Small Business
Edition 2003 and failing, I uninstalled both, reinstalled SBE 2003 but when I
tried to use Outlook 2003 and get an error massage "Cannot start Microsoft
Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set of folders could
not be opened."

Hi Wombat,

I would suggest that you remove all versions of Office and then reinstall
them.

Please follow these steps to totally remove Office.

Remove Office 2000 and Office 2003

=========================



To remove Office 2000 and 2003 and any stand-alone Office products that may
be present on your computer, follow these steps.

Microsoft Windows XP
==============
Click Start, click Control Panel.
Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the list of currently installed programs, click Microsoft Office 2000.
Click Remove.
Click Yes to confirm.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 for Microsoft Office 2003
Repeat steps 3 through 5 for all stand-alone Office products that are
installed on your computer.

Delete Office Folders
==============
Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
Click to select the Show hidden files and folders check box, and then click
OK.
Delete the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

Locate and open the following folder C: \Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA\
Delete all folders and files under data

Delete the .tmp Files

Quit all the programs that are running, and then restart your computer.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type %temp%, and then click OK.
Press CTRL+A to select all files, and then press DELETE to clear the default
Temporary folder.

Note You cannot delete files that are being used by currently running
processes.
Rename the Config.msi Folder

Start Windows Explorer.
Rename the folder Config.msi to Config.old.

This folder is typically located at the root of drive C, for example;
C:\Config.msi.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
Click to clear the Show hidden files and folders check box, and then click
OK.
Remove Office-related Keys from the Registry

problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft

Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
Delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

Run eraser2k.exe

Run Office Setup for both Office 2000 and Office 2003
