Where do hotfixes come from?

B

Bert Kinney

This hotfix is available from Microsoft Product Support as stated in the
article.

Well, thanks a heap for rereading the article for me, that really helps.
See, the whole product-support site is kinda confusing, that's why I asked,
hoping someone could possibly get me a link to this esoteric "hotfix". i
already tried navigating the site myself and failed, as I stated in my
question. there, I reread something for you.

Anyone else care to give me a clear answer?

The clear answer is you must contact Microsoft by calling them - only
mention the issue stated in the hotfix and nothing else, and you will NOT be
charged a support call. Can't get much plainer or simpler than that.

Well gosh, I thought I *was* contacting MS through this forum. Guess *not*.
I'd try to *read* it some more Tom. Let me get right on that.

I assumed this "hotfix" was available online. Apparently not, at least not
to paupers who get Windows with their new computers. Thank you sir for
giving me a straight answer and not talking down to me like I can't read.
Your polite response is appreciated and I shall contact MS by phone then.

Nope, this is a peer-to-peer newsgroup. Not MS support. The article
plainly states what you have to do. And, it doesn't say to post in a
newsgroup.
