As an FYI, my posted problem is called a "Redraw Problem," according to
Troubleshooting in "Display."

Now, just what properties are supposed to be in Display settings (no
defaults are indicated)?

One can tinker around at will but its not, IMHO, wise to do so. I did make
some changes; hopefully, they're all right... "Troubleshooter" errantly
"asks" if the problem is solved! Ya, like sure...I'll pop into multi-tasking
while I'm in Troubleshooter.

Changes: Settings/Monitor/box: Hide Modes This Monitor Cannot Display
(unchecked it). It was checked before.

Changed Color Quality down to 16 bit.

Reduced Screen Resolution to 1280 X 1024...

What on earth is Broadcom Control 2??? Its listed in my Programs, downloaded
from MS.

Thank you.

Humm, that is exactly what I posted in reply to a question that you
asked. I don't remember the group the thread was in, but it wasn't a
French one!

Hi Ariel/Laungingstar~*

Did you get an updated video driver for your graphics card? I wasn't too
sure from your earlier post whether you had or whether you were just
saying you had identified the card as the source of the problem.

You might want to try turning down the hardware acceleration a notch to
see if that cures it -- there's a slider in Settings | Advanced |
Troubleshoot tab.

Could I please ask a favour? Please don't post attachments to the group.
It's not a good idea and most people will delete them unlooked-at
anyway.

thank you very much. Yes, I turned down the hw accelerator a bit...
nothing's happened recently. I haven't been sure how to obtain a video
driver for the graphics card, but in Troubleshooting I clicked on the update
options, and both responses were there were no needed updates.

also, my cords were "arranged" for me under my pneumatic desk, which may be
in part responsible for the problem. I'm having someone check things
tomorrow.

Thanks in re that to databaseben herein.

Hello again

Glad things are okay at the moment (fingers crossed they'll stay that
way!)

It's usually best to get updated drivers from the manufacturer. If you'd
like, post the make and model of your graphics card, and I'll have a
look around and post back a link to the latest driver for you.

Best wishes,
