where can I search for info on what file names are or
what they do. example 'BTV' or 'SysRen' or 'jusched'
or 'Gstartup'. With my firewall, when some of these
programs are trying to access the net, I don't know if
they are good programs or spyware or adware so I deny
them access. This oftem means I can't display the page I
want but then I can't work out how to reverse the
decision.

If this makes sense to anyone I would be gratefull of any
help.

Google.

It might be a good idea to also scan your computer for spyware. Here are a
few free programs:

You should be able to find information on these files right inside your
firewall. I can do that with my copy of Zone Alarm Pro and it takes me to
the Zone Alarm website where I get detailed information about each
application wanting access. You can also just try using Google to search
for the filenames.
