I am not sure if this is the newsgroup, but here we go.

How does a GUID look like?

I was trying to create a computer account for the domain server for a HP
notebook. I could not find the computer GUID on the case, BIOS acceptable
to the DNS. I also tried look under device manager, sysinfo. Tired the XP
product key.

does it look something like he.hh.hh, yy.mm.dd on the BIOS version date

GUID = Globally Unique Identifier.

If your computer ID is required click Start>Control Panel>SystemGeneral and
you will see to whom the computer is registered and the computer name to
use.
If you are trying to configure a domain server look the subject by clicking
Start>Help and Support> Type GUID and follow the entries found.
