When you close Outlook 2K3 the process keeps running

Hello,
When you exit Outlook 2K3 the window closes and no icons remain in the notification
area. However if you look in Task Manager the Outlook process is still there.
I have done the steps suggested in KB914909, which is checking COM Add-Ins
& Add-In Manager. There was nothing in COM Add-Ins and one fax extension
in Add-In Manager. I disabled the extension but still no go.
System software is XP Pro SP2, Office is 2000. We also did a detect and repair
on Outlook.
