When writing multiple discs only 1st DVD is recognized

I have a Dell 8300 running WindowsXP with a TEAC DV-W58E drive. I have tried
using a number of programs to do backups which require more than 1 DVD. With
all of these programs the first disc writes OK. When prompted for a 2nd disc
I put the DVD in but the programs never start writing it. System says drive
is working properly and I have not found any driver updates. WindowsXP has
been reloaded for other reasons and the same trouble exists. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Why use other software for that, simply install xp cd,select, file transfer
wizard,
set as old computer, store the data in a new folder that you create, select
the data
you want the wizard to save(if alot of data, run the wizard 2X,1X with
settings
only, other with files,etc..),once the data is complete, move to a cd.
