When Outlook opens, the reading view is too small.

When using Outlook 2007, the overall reading view is too small. Can I
increase the default font size for Outlook 2007 or should I increase the
screen size. I am currently using screen size 1024x768 pixels which was good
enough when I was using Outlook 2003.

Try upping the DPI setting (dots per inch). Rather than try to select
different fonts, most of which are fixed (i.e., hardcoded), enlarge
them all. Search the included Windows help on "dpi".

The new default font takes some getting used to.

I would try changing the font size before messing with the DPI, especially
if its only a problem in Outlook and only with plain text (HTML can also be
enlarged but its not as effective).

Tools, options, mail format.... stationery and fonts.

The font change ONLY affects the
view pane/window for the e-mail.
It does not affect the font used for the tree list, header list pane,
or the menubar text. In other words, changing the font style and/or
size in Outlook's options only effects a change in how the body of
e-mails are seen. Changing the DPI will affect the size of even the
hardcode fonts used within Outlook for everything, including the
e-mail body and all the other stuff, too.

The OP did not say where the font is too small, just the "reading view" - we
don't know which fonts are the problem and changing the DPI will affect the
entire system. It's not a change to be suggested unless you know for sure
those are the fonts she speaks of and without mentioning that it will affect
the look of the entire system.
