When I try to burn an audio cd I can't fit as many files as I used

I have about 40 minutes of music files to copy to cdr. The disc is 700mb or
80min. I can only get about thre files on a disc for some reason. The only
thing that has changed is I had to completely recover my C drive since a
lightning strike, I am using Windows Media Player or Sonic Stage. Neither
will copy as it did before. Each file is less than 2mb. 12 selections of this
size should fit unless something has changed right?

We had an electrical storm with a lot of lightning. I was unable to start
windows.I used my system recovery discs. They worked just fine but I had to
reinstall some programs. I lost all of my files on the C drive.
