when i sign in with passport i get "this page cannot be displayed"

so i couldn't post a question. is there an email address i can use?
the whole problem is "this page cannot be displayed" shows up frequently
when I sign in or leave a signed-in page. It all started when I downloaded
the critical updates (832894 or 821814) which includes IE6 SP4 for W2K.
