When I press tab it moves the cursor 13 places right

When using excel 2003, I enter data and press tab to move to the next column,
but the tab moves thirteen places to the right.
How can I correct this

hi,
on the menu bar....
tools>options>transition tab> uncheck transition navigation keys.
