when I log off my PC I get this OE error

Hi,
I've noticed over the last few weeks that when I shut down my PC for the
night I get a "end task" dialog and the title says something about Outlook
Express folder sync.

Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue.

thanks

If you have your anti virus checking email, disable it. Unfortunately,
for most AV programs, to disable it, you need to uninstall and reinstall
the AV program.

If you want to ask an Outlook Express question, ask in an Outlook Express
newsgroup like microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general.

The reason I have antivirus is partially for my email. Surely there has to
be a fix without removing the protection for my emails?

Sorry my Outlook group is right above my Outlook Express link and I posted
in Outlook by mistake, I have posted in the OE newsgroup now, thanks for
pointing that out

You are playing with fire and email scanning is redundant and not
necessary. If you should foolishly open a See Angelina Jolie's Big Tits
email, your AV will react and raise hell, don't worry. Unless, of
course, it's a blue meanie that your AV program doesn't have a
definition for but in that case you'd be screwed anyway. OE doesn't like
to be scanned and can cause the type of problem you're having.

As OE is no longer supported, I would also recommend changing to another
email program. I like Thunderbird which can import all your email and
address book quite seamlessly and is a lot easier to back up than OE.
Some like Windows Live Mail. Others opt for pay programs like Outlook
(which is the group you posted to; there's another for OE still).
