What's the best image backup software?

Can someone recommend the best image backup software?

I tried Nortons Ghost 10.
And it seems very funny and was warning about loads of things like
drivers.

What I want: to be able to backup an image and boot from a CD and
restore if necessary.

Ghost DOS allows me to do this.

No idea why N Ghost 10 has to worry about drivers??

Thanks.

Have used what you refer to as "DOS" Ghost extensively without problems - be
certain that you have the file verification option set so that the back-up
set is verified.
Also have Ghost 10 - it has the advantage of being able to do doing
incremental or differential back-ups on schedule within Windows- however
space requirement is increased dramatically - and in an emergency the "DOS"
Ghost restore is simpler and faster.

Try this 'online storage' (http://www.ibackup.com) service, makes you
easy to organize, view, display and share your favorite photos. This
service has an image gallery option which lets you view thumbnails of
your photo images and it also has a slide show.

Look into Acronis True Image. I make my images to a USB removable hard
drive and am able to boot from a rescue cd and restore an image
without having to do anything with loading windows, drivers, or
anything. The rescue cd contains support for usb devices, and probably
others. Take a look before you decide on anything. www.acronis.com

Yes, I've been using TI for a year and a half and it's great. In fact,
just upgraded from Version 7 to 9 and now can back up individual files or
folders.

FYI, I always make an image prior to installing a program or windows
updates. There have been numerous occasions where a program install has
not gone right, and I've simply gone back to the prior image. Then all
that garbage is not in your registry either!

Also weekly I back up all data (D drive). And on D drive are situated
several parts of programs which I do not want to lose portions of should
I need to go back to a prior C image a week or a month -- for instance,
Mozilla's Profile, WinFaxPro data, MailWasher Pro data, WordPerfect
macros & custom templates. More and more programs these days are
allowing you to store their data portions on another drive -- search
their settings and see what can be done. Oh, incidentally, I also store
my photos, etc on D, not C as msft has set it up.
