what the hell is this?

I'm using the forward arrow to look at pictures in the Windows Photo Gallery
and it's skipping pictures right and left, going from 12 to 18 to 26, etc.

There are so many bizarre bugs in this OS that it MUST be early beta. Search
doesn't find JPEGs with the same series name sitting right beside each other
in the same folder and now this.

What made MS think this OS was anywhere near ready for release?

Though I think that Vista has potential...I agree with you that it was not
ready for release.
But that's the way marketing is done...
get it out the door, we'll fix it later.

I'm not singling out MS here...that's just the way business is done
and has been done for as long as I've been around.

I've noticed the same thing. Very erratic though, one time it will work
fine, the next time 3 out of 4 pictures are skipped

Vista's doing extremely well. Zune has gained a great No. 2 position as a product that's
completely new for us. Vista's the most-used piece of software there is in the world, and so it
has this incredible impact as people talk about how it simplifies things that they've done.

The whole world is using Vista. It's just great. Peachy.
Bill will tell you so. Please, don't ask me what in hades
he is talking about... I don't know what he means.

It is my understanding that thus far, the US Government has refused VISTA.

LOL yea right.
Looks like Bills meds are taking over...

More priceless Gates quotes:

- "At Microsoft there are lots of brilliant ideas but the image is that they
all come from the top - I'm afraid that's not quite right."

- "Hey, I never told anyone to buy my stock! Besides, no one is less happy
than I am with the performance of Microsoft stock! I've lost tens of
billions of dollars this year-if you check, you'll see that that's more than
most people make in a lifetime!"

- "I have 100 billion dollars... You realize I could spend 3 million dollars
a day, every day, for the next 100 years? And that's if I don't make another
dime. Tell you what-I'll buy your right arm for a million dollars. I give
you a million bucks, and I get to sever your arm right here."

- "Microsoft is not about greed. It's about innovation and fairness."

- "Since when has the world of computer software design been about what
people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly
coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg
your binary gods for mercy."

- "Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning."

and my favorite:
- "Let's face it, the average computer user has the brain of a Spider
Monkey."
that totally explains his business plan

Come on !!! A repair install because the photoviewer is skipping photo's ?!

If that fixes it, that is ludicrous.

I guess the Photo Viewer is part of the O/S too ?

Sadly Microsoft has long had the policy to include applets, like the
image viewer, Windows Explorer, Media Player as PART of the underlying
OS rather then having them as free standing seperate programs thus
making any problems with these applets or others next to impossble to
resolve without also "repairing" the entire OS. I know, very dumb
programming, since it does NOT have to be this way. :-(

just google bill gates quotes - they're everywhere ;)

here's a couple more "gems":

- "There won't be anything we won't say to people to try and convince
them that our way is the way to go."

- "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. If you visit the Microsoft
hotline, you'll literally have to wait weeks if not months until someone
calls in with a bug in one of our programs. 99.99% of calls turn out to
be user mistakes. [...]
I know not a single less irrelevant reason for an update than bugfixes.
The reasons for updates are to present more new features."

- "If you can't make it good, at least make it look good."
(which explains Vista..)
LOL
