What runs the Run/Runonce settings ?

Hi

Im running my XPe with custom shell. That works fine.
The problem is, when I try to to use the Run/RunOnce registry settings in
HKLM or HKLU, they are not run ??

But if I enable the Explorer shell again, they are run.

So my guess is, that the Explorer shell is looking in those registry keys
and start the applications ..??

I did have the believe, that this was done by the winlogon, but that is
wrong or have i missed something ?

I believe it is in fact explorer shell that parses those keys. You may find
some good information on this subject of the run key dependencies in the
newsgroup archives. I'm not sure if an alternative for non-explorer shell
has been found or not.

Hey Andy

I did find a solution. The UserInit key under
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
does the trick for me.
Its not a RunOnce, but that is ok for me. The Userinit key is komma
separated, so its possible to add more jobs...

I need it for updating my custom shell remote, so I need af job to be run,
before the shell is loaded.

So Userinit works for me...
