What resources does my security group have access to?

Is there a method of determining what resources (folders on file server,
objects in AD, etc) a given security group has access/rights to?

I am aware that CACLS & XCACLS will allow you to view the ACL information
associated with an object, but I am looking for a way to view all folders a
particular group has access to.

See tip 8545 » How can I generate a report of folders and files that have specific user or group permissions set?

So, not to be rude, you don't know the answer.

Considering the fact that this is the first time I have utilized Microsoft's
news group, I figured I would recieve a "valid" answer just as quick as if I
were to search myself.

In short...a simple link to a previous post would have sufficed.

Thanks anyway ;)

Hi Rusty,

Maybe the tool Permission Analyzer. It gives you all folder access rights
per user or user group.

Rusty,

I probably should have copy and pasted a reply.

I typically suggest to people who post a question that seems to me to be
asked often that they do a search before they post. This is what I did when
I first started using the newsgroup. The discovery process is a wonderful
thing. Along the way to finding an answer for the 'subject at hand' I would
often find several other very interesting things. Thus, I suggest that
people do a search.....

Anyway, here are a list of web sites that I find useful. They might be able
to help you later on.

http://www.joeware.net
http://www.eventid.net
http://www.msresource.net
http://www.petri.co.il/
http://www.gpoguy.com/

So, I hope that you first experience with the News Groups was not too
horrible. This is a really great place full of very smart individuals. It
is definitely a good place to be....

Cary,

Thanks for the reply.

I understand the methodologies behind your suggestions, and yes I agree that
the discovery process is a great thing.

I didn't mean to sound rude, I was just looking for a little more help than
that. Anyway, thanks for the links...I will look them over.

Thanks,

Rusty
