What is this?

Hi all

what is this directory/file etc? and do I need it??

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 ......... whatever it is, it
is not a working program as all the checks etc come up with "missing program
file" for this.... missing msvcr80.dll ....
How can I safely remove the above directory?

By no means a techie.... so please don't give me techie info LOL... just
noticed the "missing program files" and was wondering...

Any version of .NET Framework is only needed if you have programs that
require it on your machine. I was able to avoid all of .net crap until I
installed AutoCAD LT 2007. AutoCAD LT 2007, for example, needs .NET
Framework.

I installed AutoCAD LT 2007. AutoCAD LT 2007, for example, needs .NET
Framework.

And Printmaster 16 requires an older version of .NET framework. I tried
to clean up my hard disk by removing this version. At least Printmaster
popped up a dialog box to tell me exactly what was missing when I tried
to start the program. Reinstallation of the proper version solved the
problem.

I have more than saved the price of Printmaster from not having to buy
very many greeting cards at the drug store any more.
