what is the mystery of "<>" in Cross-tab querry?

I produced a Cross Tab querry for a purpose. I need to create a second
querry by using Cross Tab fields. Unfortunately, I can not use field
which is named as "<>" in the cross tab querry, that is automatically
produced by Access.

Because, [CrossTab]![<>] is not valid because of "<" and ">" invalid
characters. And there is no way to edit "<>" in cross tab querry.

Is there any way?

If there are any Null values in field you specified as the Column Heading
for your crosstab, Access creates an extra column to repsent the nulls, and
names it <>.
