What Is Meant By "For This Machine"

What is the meaning in the Rules and Alerts listing of the rules used, "For
this Machine" and "For other Machine". I see these phrases on some of the
rules.

These are local rules; rules that only work when Outlook is open on a
specific machine. It's best to avoid creating these type of rules so they
would even work when Outlook is closed (they run on the server then)
