What file set does SFC use to verify system files after install of SP2?

My system seems to be running well but as IE has had to close because of
errors a couple of times lately I thought I should run system file checker
(sfc /scannow) but when I put my XP Pro CD into the CD drive as prompted SFC
reported that the CD was "a different windows.product CD than the version
installed". I assume this is because I have installed SP2 but I don't know
how to supply SFC with the file set it needs to use as reference to check
the files currently used by Windows. I tried burning a copy of the i386
folder (from C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\) to CD as I thought that would
provide the proper filepath from the CD drive and the proper files/versions
but SFC didn't fall for that trick for one second. (in its place I would
have fallen for it in a heartbeat)

No, SFC still uses the Windows CD. Files that have been updated are
stored on the HDD (folder WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES). The SFC
automatically uses the newest file available.
