What Else Can I Do?

I currently have a spreadsheet set up to monitor my pupils progress. The
students programme is split up into 10 sections, with 5 exercises in each
section. I have set up my spreadsheet to work out the average overall mark
for each section, the average overall mark for the 10 sections, and also the
average overall mark for each section and for all sections, depending on if
the students are male or female.

What I am after now is any more "funky" stuff which Excel can do for me?
Anybody got any suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance

Isn't this back to front? Should you not be identifying a thing that you
need doing/would like doing, and then work out what and how it should be
done. Just trying to add more bells to what is an acceptable application is
likely to slow it down, and may reduce it from being an acceptable solution.

Fair comment Bob. I am a novice to Excel, and so am not sure of its full
capabilities. The reason I asked the question was that I was hoping that
there may be a teacher or another academic who uses Excel, and I was hoping
they could give me some input onto what they use its capabilities for!

I take your point though about my question being back to front!

I understand that, but I feel you will learn much more by having a
particular need and solving that, rather than trying to invent needs.
Perfect example is going on a course, how much is actually retained of what
is learned there? My experience is that we retain very little, and what we
do retain tends to be what we use very soon after, and regularly. More
importantly is to have a good problem solving approach, and work out how to
do things. You seem to have this, and I bet you have learnt lots from the
questions that you have asked over the past week, as they are directed at
specific problems that you have.
