What does "Subscript out of range" mean when I am importing data?

I am designing a data base for my business and I want to import data from an
excel spreadsheet. I have put my spreadsheet in the same order as the table,
but when I perform an import, the very last step tells me that the subscript
is out of range. I have no idea what this means. Please help.

Hi Shawnlovesron

I can remember the frustration of getting these meaningless error messages
when I first began importing into Access.

One way to learn is to go step by step.
The way I do it in this situation is to start with only one field.
Perform the import using only the first column from your spreadsheet.
Fix all errors with importing this first field.
When the first field imports correctly, try importing the next field.
Continue importing one field at a time until you have mastered the import
process then try several fields at a time.
Post back if there are any other issues with the import.
