Been wondering what folks think of the festival this year..

Lots of controversy over a Hiphop rap artist headlining and little miss "prim and proper I don't wanna go to Rehab" punching out at audience members..

I know Flopp's hasn't gone this year for the first time in a while and would like opinions on whether the festival is just becoming to commercialised now..The weather this year is good and looks to stay that way.

Although just watched the Neil Diamond set on Channel 4 and was pleasantly surprised by the performance..

Am I annoyed it didn't rain much this year?

No, of course I'm not..... (fingers crossed behind back)

After all these years it lost it's magic for me last year and it would appear that was true for lots of other people as there were still a thousand tickets unsold.

For the same money as I spent for five days in a muddy Somerset field last year, I could have had a fortnight in Majorca or something. Not the same, I know, but it makes you wonder. Or better still, have gone to the Beni Casim festival in Spain in August.

I watched the Amy Winehouse clip, didn't look as though she was punching anybody out to me, though it was a bit vague. I like Amy Winehouse, even though she's got all those bloody tattoos, she still sings really good.

Actually done two Discos this weekend, Friday night was Barry's 25th (who came to Glastonbury with a bunch of us in 2003) and Saturday was another Beach Party at one of our locals, three of us doing different sets (Rock {me} Reggae & Seventies Funk {Gordon} and Trance/House {Andy}). The place was themed up to look like a Beach.

:)

What an unusual lineup.

I've heard of:

British Sea Power (me like them, got all their albums :) )
American Music Club
Mercury Rev
Robin Hitchcock
Tindersticks.

And that's it.

Looks like an interesting venue.

ah yes, well the beauty is that i'm a hugee huge fan of about 6 bands that are playing, so theres bound to be something there!

plus the maximum it can hold is 5000 which is just so much more practical then Glastonburies!

I think Jay-Z was a good thing this year, people started a load of hype about nothing, did he get booed off no.

Plus, non-typical bands/artists have been playing for years, it ain't all drums and guitars anymore.

Wanted soooo bad to go this year, haven't been for ages, definetly going next year.
