I get this error in the event viewer system log:

Description:
The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within the timeout
period.

How do I find out what device that is?

I think IdePort1 refers to your Primary IDE channel on the Motherboard
which is simply a connector for the hard drive or
cdrom drive. It's the connector you plug your hard drive cable into on
the Motherboard.

Not to confuse matters too much, but it may actually be the Secondary IDE
channel - I believe the Primary is IdePort0.
