What about the updates that could have been installed earlier?

Anybody know how this works?

Say I install vs2008 but elect not to install the SqlExpress feature.

Then I install a few vs2008 updates which include updates to the SqlExpress
feature that is not installed.

Then I run the vs2008 setup which enables me to add features not yet
installed and install SqlExpress.

What about the updates that could have been installed earlier?

Thanks

Any updates the computer might need should be offered by Automatic
Updates/Windows Update.

microsoft.public.vstudio.general would be a more appropriate newsgroup for
your question.

No. My question is how Windows deals with the situation I described.

Thank

Aaron,

I believe he answered your question. IF an update is needed, WU will
install it.

With all due respect, I'm not going to get into an extended treatise on
Windows Update detection logic here, Aaron.

Oh, you mean, I install something, update it, revise it and windows Update
will the re-update it.

That's the way it works!

I missed that.

Thanks a lot
