"Welcome" Login Screen

When I start up my computer, I get to the login screen for each account. A
coupple days ago I logged on to Windows Live Messenger. Now, every time I get
to that login screen, it tells me I have 89 unread messages....but I have
none. I hate having that there, is there any setting I can change so that it
won't say that anymore?

Use Kelly's reg tweak, here...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Read the instructions at the top.
Scroll down to...
100. Disable Unread Mail on the Welcome Screen - Undo
Right click on Disable Unread Mail on the Welcome Screen and select Save
Target As.
Download to your desktop or somewhere you can find the file.
unreadmail.reg is the file that you want.

Or use TweakUI.

TweakUI
[+] Logon
Unread mail
Uncheck: Show unread mail on Welcome screen

[[This allows to enable viewing of unread mails on the Welcome Screen and
also to specify how long mails have to be marked as unread. This setting can
be applied to all users or a specific user only (the user who is currently
logged on).]]

Download TweakUI here...

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Or edit the registry.

Change MessageExpiryDays to 0.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\UnreadMail

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Hi, you can manage your unread mails with this script :
