weird beeping noise from mobo

Hello, and thank you for the help. Today, when I tried
to shut down, I get a message that said "program not
responding DVLDR" and then I hit quit and it popped up
about six times and kept asking my to quit the program.
It finally shut down. Next time I booted up, I noticed
that the startup screen (the ones that flash by before
windows loads) said I only had 128 MBs of RAM but I know I
have 256. Related or not? THEN to make things worse, I
opened the box, took out the memory and reinserted them (I
thought maybe one was loose because I recently installed
a new video card in a slot nearby). Now, when I try to
start the comp., the motherboard makes a weird beeping
alarm noise and I get the black screen of death! Any ideas?
..

Something is loose or dead. The beeping is known as a beep code, and the
pattern of the beeping has a meaning. Check your motherboard manual to see
what the beeps mean for you.
