Webcam pop-ups

Alrite,

I am running Windows 2000 and IE6. I have installed all of
the updates from Microsoft and have run Spybot S&D several
times. However, I keep getting pop-ups saying saying Im a
woman, come look at my web cam, click OK. Also, I keep
getting a pop-up saying we have found spyware please
visit ...

I have also put on Spyware blaster. Does anyone know how
to get rid of this???

I got rid of this once by using spybot 1.3 and then
updating it. Then immunized it. Also I had to go to the
documents and setting and delete all the cookies and del
the windows temp file. that seemed to do the trick for me.
When I used the version 1.2 of spybot it didnt work.

If that doesn't work, consider getting a pro package such
as Norton Internet Security - this includes an "Ad
Trashcan" where you can drag an ad to prevent you ever
seeing it again. And it works as well. Norton does seem
rather expensive, but you can (bizarrely) quite legally
get it on an educational license, which makes it very
cheap. It takes a bit longer to get it, because there
are forms to fill in and get signed by your/your
offspring's educational establishment (I am being rather
presumptuous here, I admit), but you get the full version
whihc will also protect you from viruses (ours gets
updated daily). Hope this helps.
