Web Sites Popping Up and going away all the time

I have Windows XP, Service Pack 2

Web sites (not advertisements) are popping up randomly. Very annoying.
I've seen nester.com and various things. I've uninstalled/reinstalled IE and
my At&t web browser. It flashes up for a secind and then goes away.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, no. Spyware is more than "truly annoying". I would
explain it in more detailed terms but that would probably get me banned
from the newsgroup.

There are ways to deal with spyware, but none of them are any fun. Ready?

Use many spyware scanners until you find one that can at least identify
what's infected you. You can't know how to deal with something that you
can't identify.

If you are lucky enough to identify what's bitten you, look for specific
removal instructions. Which may or may not exist.

Try HiJack This :

Sometimes, despite everything you try, you cannot get rid of the problem
(especially if it's being hidden by a rootkit.) Your only way out then
is to backup whatever you need to backup and then erase your hard disk
and start over.

You can't remove Internet Explorer. You just removed your access to it.
