Web sites failing to open

I'm unable to use Google Toolbar in IE6 to run Web page
searches, or to call up cached files. I'm also unable to
obtain search results from www.allmusic.com, a site that
uses Javascript.

Just installed the latest Java 2 Runtime Environment. IE6
and Windows XP are up to date. Any ideas about why these
sites might not work would be most appreciated. Thanks.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.
