Web site showing up as html file

Don't know how to work around this. The site was created in Dreamweaver
and lives on a Unix box. I can FTP to the site successfully. When I try
to publish a page through frontpage 2003 the folder that hold my site
pages appears as a file. The folders name is mainsite_html.

The place where this is causing the biggest problems is with my forms.
If I upload a forms page to the site using an ftp client I break the
frontpage extensions (and have to call the isp to fix them). I would
like to be able to publish the page through frontpage 2003 to alleviate
this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the site has FrontPage extensions installed then do not use FTP -
as you have learned FTP will corrupt the extensions.
In FrontPage open the web site on your hard disc, then use
File->Publish SIte (or Web) to publish to the domain using a location
similar to http://example.com
If the extensions are correctly installed, the files will be published
to the correct folder.
