Web Site Not Opening

I do not understand the reason for this: Using Internet Explorer and/or
Firefox I do a search in Yahoo for Circuit City. The search completes, I
click on the Circuit City official web site (circuitcity.com) and the page
comes up blank, the bottom left corner says "done".
I can manually insert circuitcity.com in the URL bar, and the web site loads
and comes up. It does this on both browsers. This doesn't happen just on
this web site, some web sites load from the search and some do not. Why is
this?

Do you have a custom HOSTS file? Like the MVPS HOSTS file?

The MVPS HOSTS file blocks servedby.advertising.com

When you search for Circuit City at http://www.yahoo.com/

The link that looks like ...

Circuit City - Official Site
www.circuitcity.com Check out our great prices on cool electronics.

But it is really this link...
http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0SO7CerP...6JHyTJI7jE9rv0PPuZr&yargs=www.circuitcity.com

That link resolves to...
http://servedby.advertising.com/click/site=617046/mnum=217340/term=10720/spid=17701496

The MVPS HOSTS file blocks servedby.advertising.com and you never get to
www.circuitcity.com because of all the nasty crap that
servedby.advertising.com is trying to unload on you.

In Internet Explorer, look at the bottom right and see if Restricted sites
is showing.

There may also be a Privicy report icon to the left of the Restricted sites
icon. Sometimes if you double click the Privicy report icon a window will
show up listing the tracking cookies and other third party cookies.

Add www.circuitcity.com to your Favorites and avoid all the adware crap!

Wes, that was the problem with MS IE. It had blocked 1 restricted site
being, www20.oveture.com/....(long string). I'm going to leave things just
as they are. I don't need more sites jumping in on me.
Thanks for the information on the problem.
